Sign Up deadline for July 6th Swim Meet

It's been a great season so far and we are definitely on the home stretch. The upcoming week is unique because we have no scheduled swim meets. We do however have our last swim meet scheduled for Tuesday, July 6th. It is imperative that all swimmers are signed up no later than Wednesday, June 30th for this meet. Parents, even if your swimmers are not able to swim, please indicate so in our blue notebook located at the pool. This makes scheduling the meet line-up so much easier and alleviates game day changes. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.

Practices will resume as scheduled this week with the exception of Friday morning's practice. Due to the holiday, there will be NO PRACTICES on Friday, July 2nd or Monday July 5th. On Thursday, July 1st, we will have ONE evening practice from 6-7pm including all age groups.

Have a great holiday! We'll see you at the pool!

Wednesday Practice Information

Great job to all the swimmers and volunteers tonight! What a great time trial and what great swimmers! It's not easy braving the elements, like rain and cool temperatures and everyone did such a great job.

In preparation for Thursday night's meet against the Ponds, Wednesday's practices will be geared to focusing on butterfly stroke development. This is a difficult stroke and many swimmers struggle to swim this event legally. Please try to have swimmers attend at least one of the two offered practices tomorrow to work on these skills.

Again, great job tonight swimmers! We have a really fantastic season upon us!

June 8th Time Trial Meet

This afternoon we will swim our time trial meet. Time trials tend to run quickly and are a fun way to get the season started.

Swimmers ages 7 and older need to be at the pool, ready to swim warm-up's by 4:15 pm. Six and under swimmers need to arrive by 4:30 pm and will not swim warm-up's. Swimmers should bring their t-shirt, cap, goggles and a sharpie marker. The meet will start at 5:00 pm.

Volunteers, please check-in with Susan Woodhouse by 4:30 pm.

This year brings some changes to our meet line-up. Beginning this season our meets will no longer start with our six and under group. Instead the first events will be the individual medley events for age groups 11 and older. The six and under group will swim immediately following those events and the remainder of the line-up remains the same.

The forecast is calling for thunderstorms this evening. Please check the website prior to the meet for the most up to date information.

We'll see you at the pool!

Upcoming Meet Information

Just a friendly reminder that next Tuesday, June 8th, we will be swimming our intra squad time trial meet. This event is a great way to kick off the summer swim season and helps prepare everyone for the upcoming meets. On Thursday, June 10th we will host our first official meet of the season. The sign-up deadline for both of these meets is Friday, June 4th and the sign-up book is a blue notebook located at the pool check-in table. Whether your swimmer plans to attend a meet or not, we ask that you still indicate "yes" or "no" in the sign-up book to alleviate any confusion on the day of the meet.

Welcome 2010 Waves!

Welcome Waves! Season 2010 is off to a fantastic start! We had great weather and a great turn out at our first practice last night.

To keep everyone up to date with the most current information, we ask that you check this website often. This is how information regarding practices, meets, cancellations, ect. will be distributed to the entire group. Subscribing to the RSS feed located on this site, will allow you to receive email notifications each time the site is updated. Any questions regarding this can be directed to Anne Nichols.

We will be distributing shirts and caps at practices this week for those of you who have not yet received them.

The meet sign up notebook will be at the pool beginning Wednesday evening. Please make sure to sign up for the meets scheduled next week no later than Friday, June 4th. Thank you to all of you who have submitted your dates to volunteer. If you have not yet submitted dates for volunteering, please do so asap. You can contact our volunteer coordinator at the link below.

It wouldn't be summer swimming without summer storms... if there is thunder and lightning at the time of a scheduled practice, the practice will be cancelled. Practices will still go on if it is only raining. Cooler temps? Just throw on some tennis shoes and join your group for dryland activities on the pool deck.

We are looking forward to an incredible 2010 season! See you at the pool!
